Ikuzi Dolls Review 

For about two weeks now, BabyCake has been playing with her beautiful new doll from Ikuzi Dolls. Ikuzi Dolls are beautiful dolls of color and they represent different shades of black beauty. Each doll has textured wavy or curly hair and the dolls come in three different skin tones. Ikuzi means “to teach” in the Igbo language and one of the goals of the creator of the Ikuzi Dolls is to teach girls self love. 

The doll we received is the medium brown Ikuzi Doll. She came in a beautiful pink carrying case that’s great for storage when not being played with. Each doll is wearing a beautiful unique African print dress, and now BabyCake wants one just like it to match her doll. The Ikuzi Dolls are 18 inches tall, and made of vinyl with a part cloth body. The doll doesn’t come with a name, and girls are encouraged to give their dolls their own name that they love and identify with.

The Ikuzi Dolls hair is easy to style, but I don’t recommend combing it. We’ve just finger combed our dolls hair to style it and it remains beautiful. I remind BabyCake not to comb her dolls hair too. It’s beautiful and shiny, and doesn’t feel like it will be a problem or become matted like some dolls hair can be. 

BabyCake has been taking her doll everywhere we go. So many people have commented saying it’s one of the most beautiful dolls they’ve ever seen. They all want to know where we got it from, and how they can get one for their daughter. Our doll even looks a little like my daughter and I really like that she has something to play with that she can actually identify with. 

Our doll has been really sturdy and feels like it will stand the test of time. BabyCake has taken it to the playground and just about everywhere. The dolls eyes close, and her head can turn from side to side, even up and down. You can easily change her clothes and it fits other standard doll outfits for 18 inch dolls. She comes with a pair of cute Mary Janes that are easy to remove as well. 

We love our Ikuzi Doll and it’s quality is top of the line! I highly recommend the dolls for all girls. BabyCake is six years old and has taken care of her doll just fine and loves to play with it.
